Hisaab Maange Himanchal par Hindustan ka kya?
I was on a
tour to Himachal Pradesh about a month ago, the scenic beauty of 'Devbhoomi' is charismatic and the best treat
to the eyes. While I was escalating to Manali a hoarding with the caption,
" Hisaab Maange Himachal" grabbed my attention and I was surprised to
see about over hundred hoarding till Manali.
Read about it online that it's the aggressive election campaign of
Bhartiya Janta Party in the state. The state is having their Vidhan Sabha
Election in the second week of November. Some of the hoardings read, "10
Lakh Yuva Berozgaar, Kya kar rahi hai Veer Bhadra Sarkar”, “Nahi Mila Saib ka
sahi mulya, Jawab do Veer Bhadra Sarkar"
How dull era
of political advertisement we are witnessing, the same party that does not
encourage media, writers, and speakers against them is attacking a state
government on accountability, that accountability is lost when it comes to them
in the center. Media houses and journalists are being attacked by the extremist
group supported by the BJP. Questioning the government whether in the state or
of the center is the exercise of the power vested in us, the people of India. I
do not oppose their campaign, neither I doubt their intention for the benefit
of the state but maintaining a double standard is what we least expect from the
largest party in the country.
We are still
struggling for jobs, for food security, for better facilities to farmers. These
issues are to raised and questioned again and again. I could still remember the
excitement of the 2014 results and the glow in the eyes of people when Mr
Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister, but its fading.
I don't
credit the Himachal Pradesh government of anything, neither I deny the campaign
of BJP. Holding a government accountable of their work is a good practice and
should be continued at every level and BJP should appreciate it too even if
it's against them.
Note: This
article is not in favour of the Himachal Government, it's just a question for
the party that we dreamt will change the fortune of our country.
